The Town of South
Hampton has hired ELM Services of Hampton Falls as our new trash and recycling
hauler,in an effort to lower costs.
The South
Hampton Selectmen thank you for your continued cooperation as we strive to

Waste collection is every TUESDAY
The
rules are as follows:
■ Two 35-gallon barrel picked up free of charge. ■
Do not use any size larger barrel as they become
too heavy to manually lift . ■ All additional barrels must have a TOWN ISSUED
YELLOW BAG, which can be purchased at the Town Office, Library, or 100 Acre Farm
Stand 237 Main Ave. for $2.00 per bag,$20.00 per roll of 10. ■ Do not tie yellow bags to barrel handle. ■ Put trash in the yellow bag at curbside, or
place the bag with the trash in it in a 35-gallon barrel. ■ Please have trash out by 6 am or Earlier . ■ No yard waste or construction debris. ■
No large articles. ■ If occupants have unacceptable trash or recycle,
the hauler will not pick up and will place a sticker on the item(s) explaining
why it was not picked up.
RECYCLING will be picked uptown wide EVERY OTHER TUESDAY
At this time,it is no longer economically feasible to recycle glass.Effective immediately,Town residents are asked to place all glass bottles, jars, and similar containers into the trash. As a reminder,beverage boxes such as waxed milk, juice and ice cream containers are not recyclable;they need to be placed in the trash. The following
items are Not Recyclable and should be placed with trash: ■
grocery and
shopping plastic bags ■ styrofoam,
including foam egg cartons ■ pizza
boxes, paper towels, napkins, tissue paper, gift wrapping paper ■ wax
paper, wax boxes such as orange juice and milk cartons ■ one
time use plastic cutlery ■ aerosol
cans such as hair spray, shaving cream, dessert topping ■ ceramic
and glass dishes, drinking glasses, light bulbs, mirrors, window glass. ■ plastic
wrap, plastic toys and sporting goods equipment ■ packing
peanuts and bubble wrap. ■ hardcover
bound books and photographs ■ electrical
cords, rope, string, and wire. ■ garden
tools ■ clothes
hangers ■ textiles ■ electronics,
batteries ■ hazardous
chemical containers—- motor oil, hydraulic fluids, cleaning fluids.
All Cardboard is to be brought to the Blue Container at the Public Safety Building128 Main Ave. All boxes must be flattened to fit into the slot.
South Hampton residents may use the Newton Transfer Station for the drop off of bulk items on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11:45 am-6:45pm; Saturdays from 7:45 am-4:45pm and Sunday from 8:45 am to 3:45pm. Please plan your arrival 15 minutes prior to closing.
